TubExperto vs Eightify: Summarize One Video or Train an Expert?
Eightify summarizes a video. TubExperto trains an expert on the whole channel.
That is the core difference, and it is worth saying before we get to the table: these are not the same category of tool, even though both start with "paste a YouTube link". This comparison is built on data verified directly on Eightify's official listings (Chrome Web Store, App Store, Product Hunt) on 26 September 2026, because eightify.app blocked automated access that same day. Every figure we quote has its source.
What each one does
Eightify is a Chrome extension (plus iOS and Android apps) that condenses ONE YouTube video into a handful of key ideas with timestamps, in under 5 seconds according to its own listing. Its Chrome Web Store page names its audience: podcasts and interviews, AI and tech videos, business and investing, news and personal wellbeing. It says it is "powered by Claude and ChatGPT" (Chrome Web Store, cdcpabkolgalpgeingbdcebojebfelgb, verified 26 Sep 2026).
TubExperto turns an entire YouTube channel (not a single video) into a persistent AI expert: it indexes every video, remembers your earlier conversations, cites the exact second behind each answer and updates itself when the channel posts something new. It also builds two-voice podcasts, mind maps and quizzes, and lets you compare several channels at once in an expert panel.

What Eightify does well
Let's be fair: for the "is this 40-minute video worth watching?" job, Eightify is fast and its interface is simple. It has 4.0 out of 5 from 859 ratings and 200,000 users on the Chrome Web Store (direct fetch, 26 Sep 2026), and 4.3 out of 5 from 146 ratings on Apple's App Store (id6467562658, direct fetch, 26 Sep 2026). On Product Hunt it scores 4.8 out of 5 across 6 reviews, with comments such as "I've tried many tools but this is the best. And the price per year is really great, even with unlimited use" (Çağrı Güler, Product Hunt, verified 26 Sep 2026).
If all you need is to decide in 30 seconds whether a single video deserves your time, and you don't mind losing that information when you close the tab, Eightify delivers on its promise.
Where it falls short (with a source for every claim)
The real price is hard to know in advance. We found six different figures from different sources for the same annual plan: $4.99/month (about $59.88/year) according to one blog, $6.99/month according to another, a range of "$5 to $10/month" from a third, and real users who say they paid $59.99/year or even $150/year. That last figure comes from a real, verifiable App Store review titled "Predatory Trial" (BrandonDeVITO, 26 May 2025): "a 1$ free trial and then 150$ a year… it lied about the cost, [it put] the 150$ charge in tiny greyed out font". Another user, in a review titled "Be careful they will drain your bank acct" (Fraudify, 16 Apr 2024), writes: "I cancelled the subscription 3 times and it kept coming back under subscriptions and they eventually got me for 65 dollars".
Its value-for-money score is the lowest on its profile. According to the aggregate score on tooltivity.com, Eightify's overall rating is 8.4 out of 10, but value for money falls to 7.0 out of 10, and the paywall is complaint number one: 42 of the 73 negative complaints on record are about it.
No memory and no whole channel. Every summary stands alone. If you want to know what a channel has said about a topic across 400 videos, you would have to summarize all 400 one by one and stitch the results together yourself.
When to pick Eightify over TubExperto
Honestly: if you only want to know what ONE video is about before deciding whether to watch it, and you have no interest in asking it anything tomorrow, Eightify does exactly that and does it well. TubExperto is not built for that one-off, free, no-signup case; the Explorer plan needs an account (free, no card), while Eightify lets you summarize without one on some of its surfaces.
When to pick TubExperto
When what you care about is not a video but a channel: a professor with 400 videos, a technical channel you follow every week, a competitor whose positioning you want to understand in depth. Eightify has nothing to offer there (no auto-update, no memory, no multi-channel panel), and it is a limit its own site does not hide: it doesn't advertise it as a feature.
Frequently asked questions
Does Eightify have a free plan? Yes, limited to 3 videos per week of up to 30 minutes each, according to cross-checked sources (not confirmed on the official source because of the access block mentioned above).
Can I cancel Eightify without being charged again? According to the real reviews quoted above, at least two users report charges after cancelling. We can't confirm whether it still happens today; we cite it because it is what the public review says, with its date.
Does TubExperto have a trial? The Explorer plan IS the trial: free forever, no card, with 2 experts, all their videos and 7 questions per week.
Try it yourself, no signup: open tubexperto.com/en/demo and ask a real channel a question before you decide.
