Wall Street Just Chose Ethereum OVER Bitcoin
Coin Bureau
Summary
The video explains that Wall Street is increasingly choosing Ethereum over Bitcoin for institutional use, primarily due to Ethereum's yield-generating capabilities through staking and its role as a foundational infrastructure for tokenized assets. While Bitcoin maintains its position as a digital reserve asset, major financial institutions like BNY Mellon and BlackRock are building products and platforms that leverage Ethereum's productive nature. However, a recently proposed Ethereum update, EIP-8361, which aims to reduce staking yield, has sparked controversy, highlighting a conflict between core developers optimizing for network decentralization and institutional capital seeking financial payouts.
