Muchas veces nos imaginamos que muchos dinosaurios, como el tiranosaurio, como los raptores, nos los imaginamos como fieras sanguinarias, que están comiendo todo el día, que nunca tienen bastante, que siempre están cazando. La imagen de la cultura popular ahí ha calado fuerte, y llegamos a creernos que muchos dinosaurios tenían esa especie de carácter. Lo fiero que es un dinosaurio no puede fosilizar, pero sí que podemos hacer aproximaciones acerca de sus hábitos. Aunque, evidentemente, el comportamiento es algo muy difícil de extraer del registro fósil. Recordemos que tenemos fósiles, tenemos huesos, pero también tenemos huellas, tenemos huevos, tenemos coprolitos. Tenemos más cositas que huesos, pero aún así es muy complejo hablar de comportamiento o de cómo sería un animal a la hora de alimentarse, a la hora de buscar sus presas.
