There's never been a better time to go into math

Summary

Transcript excerpt

Well, let's talk about it. It feels like the whole math world is on fire talking about AI in math. I have been thinking about this for a very long time. So I put up this post last week soliciting questions that people had on the matter, and a lot of what I saw were comments from students, maybe PhD students or undergrads who had been planning on going into math or adjacent theoretical fields who were basically just saying, what am I supposed to do? next when the future seems so uncertain? You know there's a lot of fear that math is dead or math is solved or even if you don't believe those that whatever the thing that math will become is is unpleasant or not what you wanted to do. I've also talked to a lot of different professors who are essentially throwing up their hands saying what am I supposed to tell my students like how am I supposed to advise them in this moment and I thought for…
