The EU Has Abandoned Democracy

Resumen
The video discusses how the European Union pushed through "Chat Control" legislation despite a majority vote against it, highlighting a perceived abandonment of democratic principles. This rule allows platforms to scan private messages, treating all citizens as suspects, and was passed through creative voting rules and scheduling. The speaker criticizes EU officials for ignoring legal advice and maintaining secrecy around their own communications while demanding public transparency. The video argues that "Chat Control," combined with proposed age verification, is part of a larger surveillance system, but also notes that public engagement did secure some concessions, offering a glimmer of hope for future resistance.
